Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, ginger, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the tomato puree and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the heavy cream.
- Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers and grill or broil until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Remove the chicken from the skewers and add it to the sauce. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is heated through.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving, and enjoy your delicious Chicken Tikka Masala.
