Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, ginger, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the tomato puree and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream.
  5. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers and grill or broil until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the chicken from the skewers and add it to the sauce. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is heated through.
  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving, and enjoy your delicious Chicken Tikka Masala.
